Places To Go, People To See

As I mentioned earlier, we are going on a big road trip over Christmas break. Our main destination is Phoenix, Arizona, where Tina’s sister, Michelle, lives. We’ll be traveling through California to get there and come back, so we’re seeking advice on places to visit and sites to see along the way. We may not see all of them, but we’re compiling a long list so we have many choices. Please leave your suggestions in the comments.

  1. Giant sequoias - sand dunes (hint) - pan for gold in central Cali - PCH (at least some of it)

Don’t let the boys sleep too much….

  2. Where do you pan for gold? Giant sequoias is a good idea as well as the PCH in Northern Cali.

  3. Pan for gold in “gold country” - south of Sacramento - I think it’s along highway 59. Pretty land.

Also there’s Solvang, a Danish community, near Santa Maria. It’s mostly tourist-y stuff but there are a couple interesting things to see. Countryside is pretty too.

  4. We panned for gold in South Dakota and it wasn’t that fun.
