  1. I find it interesting that Stewart tries to draw a parallel between raving Republicans contradicting themselves and Sarah Palin by quickly throwing a clip of Sarah Palin in at the end. Not once in those clips did Sarah Palin contradict herself. You can’t fault her for the over-exuberant things other people say about her.

Jon Stewart isn’t funny whether he’s making fun of Republicans or Democrats. His whole demeanor just grates on me.

  2. I don’t think he was criticizing Palin (at least in this segment). In fact, what he threw in at the end showed her taking the high road. He’s not faulting her for the exuberance, he’s faulting the exubered. 🙂

I couldn’t disagree with you more about Stewart. I get more belly-laughs/episode from his and Colbert’s show than anything else on TV.

If I say I also enjoy most of the interviews somewhat akin to saying one enjoys the articles in Playboy? 🙂

  3. I’ve been thinking about this a lot since reading Chris’ comment. Although he denies it, it’s clear that Jon Stewart is partisan and offends many on the right. Although I don’t find his humor necessarily offensive, I can appreciate how others might. It also makes me think of people like O’Reilly and Limbaugh who often claim that they were “joking” after saying something really offensive. Do people on the right find those things funny? Or are they universally abhored?

  4. I don’t abhor them, but I really don’t find them funny either. Granted, their purpose is not to entertain with comedy–Jon Stewart’s is.

His partisanship aside, I just don’t really care for the sarcastic delivery he has. For the record, I don’t care for Colbert either and everyone says he has a more conservative lean.
