camping blues

Thomas left to camp this morning. He was excited- I was excited that he was excited. I got him all packed into the truck he was riding in, exchanged cell phone numbers with the dad’s going, gave one last little talk (call me if you need anything, stay away from bullies, don’t let anyone touch you you know where, etc…) then I drove away. As I watched in my rear view mirror the caravan of trucks pulling out of the school and heading right i felt my throat tightened and the flood gates opened. i hate saying goodbye to my kids. I don’t know how my mom did it when we went to boarding school- and that was for months at a time. There was a parent in the parking lot saying she was happy her son was gonna be gone for a week-and I truly was disgusted with this woman. I do not understand parents like that at all. Why have kids if that’s the way you feel? I am happy that he will be having a great time and it should be good for him. I would make me feel 100 times better if he had a parent there with him like most of the other boys. sigh….. I’m hoping to go up on Thursday spend the night then bring my boy home Friday when camp ends. it’s gonna be a long week….

Mick got home on Friday night-. He had a good trip but was glad to be home. He brought us all just amazing things- very thoughtful. He brought a bag, traveler mug, APPLE pen for me- 3 of my favorite things that i am always in need of.

Well i think we are going out to dinner or a movie or something. This day is dragging on and on….

It’s a BOY! (I think)

Our tadpole arrived today. He is so damn cute. Actually I don’t know for a fact that it’s a boy- but that just seems logical. Oh the boys were SO excited. Thomas went to get the mail and he came in witht the box just screaming and squealing that the frog was here. We opened the box and i could see the little fellow swimming around in the bag. Now most of you know I find fish spooky. I had that moment of spooky when I first saw him- cause he’s very fish like now. But then I saw his little eyes and his little mouth and his little head and I fell in LOVE. I got his little ‘enviroment’ all ready for him and then I dumped his water and him into it. Poor little guy just kind of looked scared. He’s doing better now. I was gonna take a picture but I’d have to use a flash and I didn’t want to scare him more. I just can’t tell you how cute he is.

Anyway- enough of me being silly.

Thomas and I put together an outdoor swing. It can seat 3 people and hold up to 600 pounds. It’s AWESOME! It took us FOREVER to do but we did it and we love it. We sat ourside most of the evening tonight just swinging away. It got a little chili so we made a little fire in the pit and one of my friends came over. Very cool.

Boys are in my room now. They have been taking turns sleeping with me while Mick has been gone. Thomas is a kicker and a snuggler. Graham moves down all through the night and ends up in a little ball at the foot of the bed. It would be lonely without them in my bed though. So I’ll take the kicking and the moving.

Got some school clothes today for the boys. Thomas is in a smaller size this year than last year and so is Graham. I’m not sure how that works.

I’m off to bed.
I’m tired

INPUT NEEDED!

As of Monday we will have a new addition to our family…. A frog. Well… actually a tadpole that will morph into a frog. We are very excited. Graham wanted a snake- Thomas has a fear of snakes and I don’t like them much either. So we settled on a frog. We can’t decide on a name. We are asking friends and family to help us decide to we are taking a poll…

Here are the choices please cast your vote before Friday :)

Piglet
Fredrick
Camo

another summer night

wow it’s already Tuesday night…. Thomas leaves for camp on Sunday and I am trying to get everything organized so i don’t forget to pack anything for him. I’m still very mixed about him going- I know he’ll be fine and I know it will be good for him, but cutting those apron strings ….. just killin me.

Mick is in SF at WWDC. He’s having a good time there. He’s been gone since early Sunday morning and will be back late Friday night. It’s a week of computer stuff and partying. Can’t beat that!

I’m fighting this crazy cold that I started getting on Friday. Saturday and Sunday were the worst days for me but I think I’m finally getting better.

One of my friends and her kids came over tonight. Her husband is in SF as well- but at a toy convention. We took the kids to the dollar movie tonight – Garfield A tale of Two Kitties. It was cute and worth a dollar. Afterwards we came home and she helped me put together the base of my new swing. Thomas and i will hopefully get it finished tomorrow. After our big bunk bed project- we can do anything! We all sat by the pit fire and just had a good time. Another great summer night. I think tomorrow I’ll take the kids to see Pirates of the Caribbean- I’ve been wanting to see that since June.

Only 2 more days until swimming lessons are over and I’m ready for that. The boys have done SO well. I’m so proud of them.

I’ve been debating about going back to school this fall. it’s hard to go to school and take care of the kids/house/car/ homework/yard/laundry/groceries/cub scouts/ music lessons/ etc….. but I enjoyed it so much. If i do go back I won’t take as many classes. two of my former classmates are trying very hard to convince me to go back…. we’ll see. I have a month to decide.

I’m beat- gonna get swim bags ready and hit the sack!!

The roof, the roof the roof is on fire, we don’t need no water let the mother F-er Burn

I’ve been working in the yard a lot. It’s never ending. I got tired of looking at the front yard by my door and so i chopped everything out except my jasmine and I bark dusted the whole lot. It looks good. Like dentist office good. The back yard is on going- and exhausting. But I hate clutter and i want it to look nice. I’m happy with my deck- and for the most part the yard. There are areas where I’m about to pour gasoline on them and just let them burn Mother F-er burn…. ha ha

Second session of swimming is going well. Thomas’ teacher has them swim laps the whole time- using different strokes. Graham’s teacher is still trying to teach the a front stroke. Graham has it mastered if he’s standing up in the water. But when he adds the front float and kicking his legs he looses all coordination. It’s very sweet to watch.

Mick is at the sleep clinic tonight- all night. Hopefully he’ll get SOME sleep.

My friend who is going through the divorce had another bout of bad news- her husband got fired last Thursday. They haven’t totally reconciled and I don’t know if they will but he’s still living in the house- just in the basement.

ok, i have a bubble bath calling my name. i have all these little bark dust pieces poking me….
