the color grey

Had class today- i started a new painting today. The first of the 3 is abstract. I just started painting on my canvas- no planning, no preparing- nada. I just grabbed a brush and some colors and started painting. i’m pretty happy with it so far.

Got into a big ‘fate’ discussion today while in class. It was interesting to hear all the different opinions. It’s made me really start thinking about fate and if it really exists. I believe things happen for a reason. What that reason is, i don’t know. Maybe that’s what we are all here to figure out. HOWEVER, are events in our life already planned out for us and we are just pawns in a big universal game? I don’t know- it’s too late to be so deep.

I have my MRI in the morning.

I’m going to bed

Happy Birthday TJ

My baby turns 11 tomorrow. (tuesday). I can’t believe I’ve had my little snicker-doodle for 11 years. It’s been a complete joy. He’s changed so much in this last year. He’s become independent but he still loves to sit by me and have me scratch his back. He has shaggy hair now-and rolls around on Heelies. He loves playing his cello and is very excited to start playing the bass on Wednesday. He’s 1 of the 2 children in the 5th grade chosen for the Talented and Gifted program at his school. He has a great group of friends and loves to talk. His best friend and he are two peas in a pod- sometimes it’s scary. He’s an awesome big brother and G thinks the world of him. I just love my Thomas to no end. It’s hard for me to explain that to him- or to G. I’m so proud every time I hear him play his cello or do something like that. I’m truly happy to have my boys.

So it’s been forever since I blogged. So in a nut shell- things are going well. I’m back in school and painting. I finished physical therapy on Thursday-which was good for me time wise. Unfortunately it wasn’t the ticket to my speedy recovery. I have an MRI on Thursday to see what’s going on. I’m nervous because the possibility of surgery is becoming a reality. I guess I’ll know more on Thursday. I’ve managed to lose weight while trying to maintain this month. I’m happy with that. So the diet is still going very well.

Graham started basketball a week ago. He loves it. He has two amazing coaches that are perfect. His team the “BULLS” won their first game on Saturday. Graham did so well.

Thomas started practice for the swim team and jr life guard. He loves it. He’s a good swimmer. He gets to practice softball with his best friend every Tuesday night.

I know there is so much more to tell but i am going to soak in the tub now. I am taking cup cakes to Thomas’ class tomorrow.

I’ll update more when i can think of it!

I’ve never posted one of these- because for the most part they are extremely corny. But hey, this one told me I was Wonderwoman how could I resist?

First off…

OK, first off, Happy New Year to everyone. We had a great one this year. We played our new Wii pretty much all day long. Around 7pm we decided we needed to eat so we went to dinner. As soon as we got home we started playing Wii sports. We did that until midnight- toasted then went to bed. I believe Mick stayed up and played more Excite-Truck…. yes, it’s addictive.

My visit with my parents went very well. I was sad when they left. My mom had a good time. Her hand was hurting her but didn’t slow her down much. Tom made shelves for me in my craft closet- which was one thing I asked for for Christmas. YEAH!!!!

We went to A Night At The Museum- which was really cute.

Physical Therapy is killing me. I am exhausted after every session. My physical therapist said that I am in no way, shape, or form to carry ANYTHING. NADA. NIL. NIET. And he also said I needed 3 more weeks of therapy.

I did really well over the holidays with my weight loss. I didn’t over indulge or stray. I did have a mini cupcake. Well, ok 3. But it was part of my 20% of eating what I wanted. OMG they were so good. They were from a specialty bakery and they were fresh and had very creamy, yummy coconut frosting. They were little- not regular size. It was worth saving up for and I still lost weight that week. MMMMM CUPCAKES……. My new goal is to maintain the 50 pounds until I can go back to the gym. Then I’m shooting for another 50. I’m SO happy about the weight loss. I feel so much better. I got out my box of littler clothes. I still have ONE box to go- of my really little clothes. I will make it back into those.

School starts back up for me on Monday. I’ve enjoyed the break but getting back into the swing of things will be nice.

I just finished reading Survivor by Chuck Palaniuk. It was, as usual, very good. I am now reading Julie and Romeo by Jeanne Ray. I got it plus the sequel for my birthday. It’s cute so far. I read the Traveling Pants trilogy as recommended by my reading guru. (who I’ve been known to call while I’m in the middle of the bookstore trying to pick out books). That was a cute series and quick reading. I actually saw the movie too- and it was good. Light hearted and entertaining. Just what i needed.

I made out like a bandit for Christmas. I got a lot of money (to go towards a printing press), a bird house (made by Thomas), a pink candle (made by Graham), table linens and Borders gift card. It was great. I haven’t used my gift certificate yet-nor have I picked out a printing press. I’m still debating that one…..

I’ve been listening to that song “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol. I love that song. Especially the part that says:

Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
It’s here in your perfect eyes
They’re all I can see

such a good song. Well that’s enough for me.
