Recent Changes to This Blog

You may or may not have noticed, but I’ve been making quite a few changes recently here. I changed the layout using a WordPress Theme called Limau Orange. This layout uses space more efficiently than my old theme and has a sidebar on each side of the content, which I really like. I’ve tried to put the more relevant “widgets” near the top where they are more likely to be seen. Recent additions are three randomly selected pictures from our photo gallery and ten recent links that I’ve saved to del.icio.us. You may have also noticed that I’ve added a few “Pages”, which are always available at the top of the left sidebar. “About This Blog” and the three articles beneath it offer a short history of how this blog came to be as well as describing what I write and what’s available in the sidebars. There are a few other useful pages and I expect to be adding more eventually.

Talking on the phone

Stephen Frank comes pretty close to perfectly describing my feelings about talking on the phone. Evidently, he and I aren’t alone because many people chimed in to agree.

Update 7/6/2008: Link is now broken.

Is that all you get for your money?

This blog and other websites on rynosoft.com have been up and down today because of the CPS office move. CPS SEO network infrastructure including the server hosting rynosoft.com was moved last night but the DNS changes did not propagate until this morning. Sometime later in the morning, power to our network was turned off by the electrical contractors in order to install the proper plugs for our UPS units. The network wasn’t restored for a couple of hours and then the server got unplugged from the network a couple of times. Evidently, this all lead the DNS to re-propagate incorrectly and I was unable to access rynosoft.com until just a few minutes ago. Hopefully, the interruptions are over.

Inside Graham’s Mind

Awhile ago Graham asked if he could have a blog, too. I said that he could but that he would have to write stuff for it. He had previously written a poem that I thought would be appropriate, but he lost it or left it at school or something. I created the blog anyway and was ready when he asked if I wanted to hear a story that he had written. “Do you want to put it on your blog?” I asked. “Sure,” he replied.

And so it began.

I’m gonna give you ’til the morning comes

As part of the new project I’m working on for CPS, I spent the day learning all about cascading style sheets (CSS) for HTML. To test out my newfound knowledge, I made some extensive additions to the main page of this blog. You should now see links and dynamic content from several of the web applications that I regularly use. Enjoy!
